Nice idea bec, I think the first one should be chateau triple eight headquaters bowen hills hey with the host a one Mr J Whincup, a welcoming and get to know each other. Dont think Roland would be too impressed with 450 crazed fans turning up - but we promise we wont break anything haha. But it would be great to meet up and chat. Meeting at races has been mentioned a lot, and a good idea was mentioned about a special tent at each race. But even away from that would be pretty fun - lol isntead of your star trek conventations you have your Jamie Whincup conventions

I love the idea Bec and I smile at Montanna’s comment about Roland’s reaction. I don’t think I’ve ever got more than one photo of RD smiling….he seems a very serious guy. If we all turned up at Bowen Hills parking would be a nightmare!

if showing up at bowen hills may cause some stress for dear roland… prehaps we should head over to jamies new pad… no dates set, so he has plenty of time!
or… winton - T8 merch tent - 9am -each day. (thats my next round. lol)

hmm, how bout at a kart track and jamie can race us all. carnage may be, but it would be fun! i like the idea of the star trek convention… we are more nuts than trekkies. i think the off season could be a good time too.

LOl all sounds interesting if not good here….. the thought of me with only carry on luggage is probably more amusing and unlikely as the chance of roland actually smiling….rofl
I definately bags a tasmanian time thats for sure………and if others are coming over for the round in novemeber the best spot is defintely in the middle of the track………. that way you can move and see either side of the track and not as much of huge crowd problem………………………………………….and your friendly flaggies wander through to find the loos and or to buy more drinks…..

great idea the “jamie fan convention” !!! Think that T8 are on the move soon from Bowen Hills out to a new factory near the airport in Brissie. MIght have more room for such functions…
I am sure we would all by a piece of merchandise to make it worth Roland’s while….;-)

and david, i cant speak for everyone, but if roland had all the merchandise there id be finding it pretty hard to just buy 1, particually if he had the limited edition stuff out. I think he’d be smiling for days after he saw me! mind you, dont think i could fit a bumper or bonnett in my pulsar to get it home.

While I’m sure TV would like to help, they don’t have infinite resources.
However, they do have events for fans rom time to time (somebody told me of one on York Peninsula recently..am I right ??).
Maybe a meet up at something like this would be the go…

Glad for the comments and to hear some of you are interested, i think we should organise a sub committee for each state and then hand over phone numbers to try and arrange something i would love nothing more than to meet other fans……. Im almost certain there is some life long friendships to be made out of this, oh and for those living in Adelaide never fear cause Bec is near, i only live 60kms from the city.
Look forward to hearing more on this subject and if we can get it happening!
