You say Rick is the most overrated. He’s won a championship (and we are not talking about what happened in the last race) and 2 bathursts which is more than you can say for most of the drivers that you don’t call overrated.

There is probably about 10 you could rattle off here….

The V8 Supercar championship is franetic. The skill on display most weekends is bewildering, most of us take it for granted these days. To be even remotely competitive, you have to be very very very good at what you do, and all of the drivers in the field are excellent.

Some are better than others - it is like footy, cricket etc.

No doubt there are some better drivers sitting on the sidelines at the moment that deserve to be there but finance says that some other blokes get in ahead of them. That is the nature of the modern day motor sporting beast.

To emphasise my point, have a look at Jason Bargwanna in the mini series. He is absolutely tearing them apart. That is the difference between a V8 Supercar calibre driver and very good "national level' racers - such as Paul Stokell, Grant Denyer etc.

OMG i cant believe you said skaife, yes he is annoying, but he has displayed excellant driving. Particularly 01 an 02. No one could touch him and that includes other holden drivers.

Rick is just a pain, becuz he won the championship in such a weird and suspicious circumstance.(but yes i blame him).

But i would say James, He has had a good car and has struggled to make it look competitive. 1 race win in 2 and half yrs, Well done brother. lol. SBR are doing a good job but he continuously lets the team down, The Giz just looks so much quicker than JC.(even though results dnt show it).

On the red side ummm, i think McConville. He gets massive leg ups from the commentators, plus he is in a decent car and he is still struggling. But, il wait till nxt yr before i make my decision their.

Thats a hard one, so many red lions to choose from. Must start with Paul Morris, then Rick Kelly, both Kiwis from Tasman Motorsport, I still can’t get over Jason Richards comments from last year regarding QR.

Speaking of over rated drivers… I was reading the Bathurst Magazine, and there was a picture of Rick Kelly with some stubble around the face…. ohhhhh… mummy’s little boy is growing up….

So many I could name… So I’ll just go current. Rick Kelly, Todd Kelly (just because he doesn’t sound as dumb doesn’t mean he isn’t just as bad!), Mark Skaife, Paul Morris, James Courtney (yes, a driver for the Blue Oval *gasp*), Paul Dumbrell, Greg Murphy (bad craftsman always blames his tools), and well, just half the field really. Tragic, eh?
But in all seriousness, V8 Supercars are supposed to be the top level of Australian Motorsport, and half the drivers shouldn’t be there.
Soooo, yeh….

OMG u cant say that Rick Kelly isant the most over rated because the only reason he won the championship is becoz he knocked poor Lowndesy off the track… eww what a fag

I would have to say james courtney is the most overrated driver, he seems to have good machinery underneath him and doesn’t seem to do much with it.

James Courtney was doing a stellar job with his car at Bathurst. It was a spectacular, standout drive. The opening stint was flawless while it outshone everyone else there.
