TeamVodafone nominated for Australian sporting team of the year
The achievements of three-time Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 Champions, TeamVodafone and drivers Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup have been recognised by journalists from The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald and the Fairfax radio network with the esteemed panel nominating the Brisbane based team for Team Performance of the Year at the second annual Sport Performer Awards.
The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald in-conjunction with Colonial First State present the Sports Performer Awards which aim to be one of the most prestigious prizes in Australian Sport - recognising the very best performers from the past 12 months.
With the Sports Performer Awards to be voted for by the public, TeamVodafone are encouraging V8 Supercar fans to visit www.performerawards.com.au and vote for the popular drivers who are up against a number of football teams and the Woman's 4×200m Relay Team for the honour.
Voting closes 5.00pm (AEDST) on Friday 21 November, 2008 with the winners to be announced at a special function to be held at Crown Casino on Wednesday 26 November, 2008.

we should all vote, as the team is a very deserving nominee. They work very hard and defeat tough competition. To win 3 consecutive Bathursts is the motor racing equivalent of 3 AFL Grand finals, 3 Melbourne Cups… you get the picture.
Maykabe Diva is a legend because she won 3 cups in a row, an Icon. I reckon it is about time Triple 8 were recognised as being at the top of the tree in terms of sporting organisations - rather than just in Motor sport circles.
