i love watching the v8s on tv and have always thought the coverage was great. the company my parents work for recenlty decided to sponsor a local driver, from kalgoorlie where i live, who is new to the V8s, Michael Patrizi. After meeting him and getting to know him we have found it hard to keep track of his progress on the tv because he is not a front runner. They tend to only show the top 10-15 unless their is an incident at the back. I love most of the front runners too but its very disapponting and frustrating when you know someone who is racing and they might be shown once or twice during the television coverage. does anyone else think its unfair that the rookies, or less experienced drivers get less coverage??

Emma it is very hard for them to do footage of all the drivers and it makes better tv to have the front runners most of the time however they will show other drivers if there is a good battle happening …..
Even those who are in front now started at the back of the pack and we missed seeing them as they made their way up……
As it is we dont see enough of the races that they do broadcast but maybe in the future we will get better coverage ( without having tho fight the footy)

i agree with u emma, instead of watching CL & MS for 6 laps a little bit of panning would be nice! I know how u feel to cause my dad watches the races with me at my house n he’s a brighty fan!

well,
we are talking about channel 7 here
they have good camera angles and stuff but have no idea when to use the camera or cut to an ad. there is a good battle then they cut to an ad break

yeah, i definately love watching the battles at the front but having a personal connection to a driver changes when you want to watch their progress but cant unless you see their name is the position bar down the bottom which doesnt always go right to the end haha! but yes very true about channel 7!

yer i do agree. coming from a fan of jack perkins i used to get frustrageted when i could not see how he was going. and even in the 2007 v8 supercar highlights dvd i could remember some great crashes from some of the younger guys but they were only showing the top guys. i agree with cheryl in saying they need to pan out the viewing to everyone.

As much as i love hating 7 for their coverage, and im sorry, but i dont really agree. Isnt it up to the driver to get his car up to the front of the field to show off their sponsors and their own skill.
Though i do agree they dont always show the best battle on track Mackenzie you are dead right. They have awsum camera angles at times with some great shots, but show how useless they are cuz they neva know when to use it.

yep,
exactly greggo, they have no idea at all when and which cameras to use
