Just wondering why James Courtney & Rick Kelly were choosen for the TIVO ad on 7 atm…
in the big scheme of things, what has JC done done part from drive like an idiot & take allot of money from Ford?
yes Rick has had 2 bathurst wins and won the championship in 06, but com'on…
ideally I THINK they should have either had JW & GT as they fought out for the championship last year OR Craig Lowndes & Mark Skaife as they are prob the veterans (so to speak) of the sport, have been around for years and everybody knows who they are….
Also, has anybody else noticed that on the FG (promo) car that towards the end of the ad the boot is open so you can see "FALCON" on the wing across the top of the screen….
Do i need to get a life if it is these kinds of things that bother me????. LOL

Well I haven’t seen the ad, since I havent’t put the TV on channel 7 since the olympics started!
The only thing I can say is that a lot of people who aren’t supercar fans know who JC is because of DWTS - most non-supercar fans don’t know who JW is. (I know I’ll get slammed for saying that, but it’s true - none of my friends are supercar fans, but they all know JC and CL).
I’m guessing it had nothing to do with where the drivers rank in supercars, or how many races they’ve won - it would have been more of a personality thing - and JC definately appeals to everyone from me to my mum to my nana! Or you never know, it might be like the launch of the new falcon, where CL couldn’t do it so JC got asked…

2 Things I think of when I see that ad.
#1- Rick Kelly walks like a robot.
#2- Australia is getting ripped off with Tivo, $500+ dollars out here, $50 in America…

I’m pretty sure that in America they have to pay for it monthly, like if you have pay tv.
I haven’t seen the ad yet, despite watching the Olympics a lot. I’ll have to tune in more

The marketing brief given to the advertising execs was that people don’t appreciate TIVO’s innovation and that it’s features are very under-rated.
To fix this, the Ad execs chose two of the most over-rated drivers to advertise the product
Hence Jamie wasnt there…:-)

If you think though, Rick has his HSVDT car in the ad, but Courtney uses the ‘FORD’ (FPR built FG falcon) - could this be the largest hint to his future???
He does have a SBR suit on, but that is probably his sponsors kicking up a fuss….think about it

Next time you see it, watch Rick Kelly, his race suit keeps opening and closing at the top, like they have done a few takes and he has forgotten. Pretty funny and just shows the intelligence level.
And I agree he walks like a robot!!
