The HAPPY thread

Seeing how quite a few of the threads are getting a bit negative, I thought I'd start a happy thread!!

Things I like about this website:
* Jamie's interaction with us, both on the discussion board and in the chat room. Amazing.
* The people. Some of you are amazing people to know 'online'. Not only do we share the same love of motorsport and V8 Supercars, but we have a ball in our interactions with each other… especially in the chat room!!
* Gossip. The good kind. The V8 kind.
* Speculations on which drivers will see the light and come over to Holden.
* Structure of the site. I love the myspace/ facebook feel to the site. Not only can I be self-indulgent and post pics of myself, and favourite youtube vids - but I can look at my friends' self-indulgent sites also!. And it's not full of people I don't care about… everyone on this site shares my interests so I want to be 'friends' with them.
* 'Contacts.' Some of Jamie's sponsors have interesting offers that I would never have found/ considered otherwise…. wonder who I'm talking about hey HLM??
* Maturity. Compared to other sites our problems are minor; overall everyone behaves appropriately. The young ones are mature, and the old ones (generally) keep their mouth shut if the time and place is inappropriate.
* Personal interest by the 'crew'. So many of you lived through my recent exam period and were excited for my results, and showed concern when I wasn't online for a couple of weeks!
* Arguing with all the Ford fans about the superior make of car. No-one get's offended or goes too far.
* And finally - my confidence that this topic will quickly be added to by other members.

You are exactly right Casey.
The reason I joined the website was to meet people who had the same interests as me in V8’s and without it I would not get the same information about the sport or my favourite driver and thats why I love it!

Well said Casey. Totally agree although I am a newbie to the site and haven’t actually used the live chat that much as yet. This site always seems to have all the latest so it is always easy to fin out what is going on.

It makes me happy that since joining the website (created in 2008) car 88 and team 888 have done so well, and i’m so happy that my UAI was 88.60 - what a winning combination lol

You are exactly right, i have made a few freinds thru this site already and they genuinley car about me. i recently also finished my VCE and my V8 friends asked about my results and consoled me when i didnt get what i needed to get into uni and do a degree in Sports Managment. This site is an amazing resource and i learn so much from it every time i come on. I have taked to several people who also support V8’s and they have joined recently and think this site is by far the best compared to other drivers and team ect.

Being the only person in my family and the only one out of all my friends who is a V8 & JW fan, its nice to be able to come on here and be able to talk about what i like with people who know what im talking about and are also fans themselves.
I've had some 'strange' encounters, so to speak lol but I've made some awesome friends on here too who have the same interests, and who are quite similar to myself…and i probably wouldnt have met them if it weren't for this site :)

Totally agreed what a great site we have here. Again none of my friends are really into the V8’s or Jamie so its great to be able to come on here and catch up with all you lovely people and talk V8’s!

I thought the happy thread needed to be bumped again. People are getting too agro.

So I thought I would write this pointless thread to bump it back to the top!

And next time you are feeling grumpy with everyone on the site… I started my health kick yesterday, and decided that today I would go for a run along the beach. Someone stole my shoes. (Damn that language sensor - I could really use a swear word right now!) After looking for 30 mins, I had to drive the 50 km home with bare feet!! So, when you feel like yelling at someone think of me. You can either transfer your anger to the person who stole my shoes, or laugh out loud at me walking through the carpark stones cursing in between my ‘ouches’.

I’ve noticed the tone in a few of the other threads getting a bit aggro recently… I hope it is just the remnants of a massive New Years hangover and that things will settle down shortly.

Generally though, its a nice bunch of people on here.
