WHO REALLY CARES. Somehow the politics of V8 Supercars is becoming like Formula 1 and if thats the path that is gonna be taken then V8 Supercars is well I dare not say it here.

Heres a message for all the teams and drivers. "Get on with the job your meant to do, which is race cars. Stop bringing mindless politics into the sport. Its not needed. Get out there and do the job of trying to get to the front of the field."

OzQuest - reference the posts you refer to, I have not bothered responding to posts that see spelling and poor language detract from any attempted argument. However will happily enter into a proper discussion.

Basically - I don't understand the engineering aspects of the argument enough to enter into an intelligent discussion about the advantage or disadvantage of the part. To me, I can't see how the movement provided by the splitter can increase speed; however there must be some basis within the engineering specifications of it to see five teams lodge a protest.

Josh - I agree with the basis of your argument. I was only thinking earlier today (before I saw your post) that the recent in-fighting is detracting from the essence of racing - we really are approaching a point where the off-track agendas of management will outweigh any on-track achievements.

I don't think this issue is the fault of either T8 or the Holden teams. An article posted on another thread of this discussion board aside, T8 have behaved fairly by removing the part for the second race at Winton and then replacing it when no decision was made. The institution at fault here is V8SCA. I trust that Little is being professional and not applying T8 bias to any progress on the issue (hey - I like to think that even just as a fan I can objectively read the mature arguments on this site and not always side with Holden). The problem is that nobody will make a decision. Either the part is supported by or against the rules. My message to V8SCA is; (or would be if I actually spoke to them)

MAKE A DECISION V8SCA. You need to stop hiding behind your judicial process and fix this problem before it gets any further out of hand. If the rules do not disallow the part; then the part stays. If that makes some of you lose sleep at night then change the rules next year, and allow the T8 manufactured cars to run the part for the remainder of the season. You can not punish a team that has abided by your rules and developed a part you had not considered.
Your lack of decision-making ability is not only negatively affecting your authority, it is making our sport look bad. FIX IT before we start degrading into the political mess of F1.

Note: Why is this discussion under the 'Ask Jamie' section of the board. We know what Jamie thinks, his twitter indicated it was a 'bunch of poo' a couple of weeks ago.

I agree with Casey, a decision needs to be made. What gets my blood boiling is Tom Wilkinshaw and the way he is dragging this out. He should look back to 2007 when he and HRT were in the middle of a scandle of their own with the ownership deal. I never heard what ended up happening with that it just went on and on, it was said that if it wasn’t sorted out by the Eastern Creek round they couldn’t compete, it wasn’t sorted out but they still got to compete. I think Tom should look back at that and just be happy he is still in this sport, shut up and keep racing, because winging dosen’t win races.

these teams seem to think that there is an aerodynamic advantage with these flexible mounts?
firstly, the ve and fg were aerodynamically tested to make sure of no signifigant advantages for either mark.
secondly, 888 claim they have used this for a number of years.
thirdly, just my opinion, if 888 had an advantage, why have they only ever had 1 quinella finiish???
