also: no FRSR it will turn into 3 car team(FDT)(joining with FPR).
Mark skaife if not retirering maybe racing for HRT E85.
Scott Loadsman Racing may make the step up with Steve Owen.
Kelly brothers to run together in their own team.
Max Wilson to BJR.
Maybe TDR instead of RNR.

Rumour mill post indy has kicked into overdrive plus a bit.

Thankfully old J-dub and CL are safe and secure down at Triple 8, so they are focus 100% on the rest of the year and next year without the bother of ’silly season-itis’

Enews has broken the Kelly story wide open, and it appears to have validity to it; Use Mummy and Daddy’s licence, the personnel from the ex-HSVDT, a nice new workshop and WP ‘customer cars’. Makes complete sense. Red Bull are short-priced favorites to sponsor Rick, with Jack Daniels the favorite to sponsor Todd’s car. With Todd leaving Perkins (potentially with sponsor) this leaves Larry in a touch of poo….

two seats now going at Club Larry. You would think Jack would fill one.

Paul Dumbrell will take daddy’s money to a 3rd HRT car.

Steve Owen seems to be the favorite for the 2nd DJR seat alongside twinkle toes, and Marcus Marshall is set to leave Britek, buy the PWR franchise, and run his own show in 2009 with an ex-T8 chassis BF. Maybe this could be the second cruickshank car perhaps..

Oh, the sillyness….

David’s post is one of the few to make me raise my eyebrow, at the actual potential to the rumours. However, there are a few points that I disagree with, but have no foundation to my argument. (Of course, if the powers-that-be didn’t feel the need to delete my posts I wouldn’t have to say all this again.)

1. I can’t see JD’s leaving Perkins Motorsport. Why would they follow Todd to another team? Obviously they’ll go where the brand promotion goes, but it’s Larry Perkins they’ve been signed with these few years - Todd just happened to be ‘hired’ as one of their drivers this year.
2. If Skaife is retiring - he has to do a farewell year similar to Bowe’s farewell. I’ll be extremely disappointed if not given the opportunity to say goodbye, and regardless of the low opinion a lot of you seem to have of him - Skaife has had an incredible influence on V8 motorsport and Holden Racting Team. Therefore, I like the E85 HRT story.
3. After losing his seat for the final four rounds, can you really imagine Price going back to JDR? I’d be feeling pretty jacked off, myself. (I remeber having a discussion this year with another JDR driver, Todd, about being jacked on by a team)
4. I can’t see Toll HRT taking PD… he’s doing well now, but so far this year he hasn’t really earnt his spot at Toll HSVDT. How much money can buy you a seat at a factory team?

Very true Casey, i basically regurgitated that straight from enews last night. You know what they say about papers… but the people writing seemed to suggest that the form was as i have relayed it here.

The Kelly thing makes sense.

to answer your queries there casey:

1.) re: Larry. Larry’s sponsorship contract with JD is up for renewal at seasons end. According to scuttlebutt, as many as 4 teams are chasing the black booty. Todd seems to be well positioned to snavel it, given he is the only Jack Daniels driver since Steven Richards to actually do any good….

Where to then for Larry ? Well, anyone’s guess. I would reckon old Stevie Owen’s mobile would be ringing fairly hotly right now….

2.) Yes. Seems that Snoz is out. As of seasons end. Again speculation seems that Holden wish to retain the Autobahn money, and are making efforts to keep PD in the ‘circle’. The 3rd car will now be made available for PD, with Skaifey booted.

3.) No. Price is gone.

4.) See 2.

How much of this will actually come to fruition ??? probably bugger all !

Lets remember that in an online chat Jamie said that Rick will be driving HSV next year. So how that fits with the Kelly’s having their own team I don’t know.

I’d like Skaife to do a farewell year. After all he has done for the sport he deserves one.

This is where the plot thickens Carley…. Rick will be driving for HSV, or the old HSV… HSVDT's licences are owned by John and Margaret Kelly - parents of Rick and Todd. Technically they will be using the same licences, most of the crew members, and probably equipment from the 'artist formly known as the HSV Dealer team'.

So Rick is, and isn't, driving for HSV next year. He will have car #15 most likely.

Confused . It took me a while to work it out….

So….they way things look at the moment:

HRT: (2) Tander / (22) W. Davison / (24) Dumbrell
FPR: (5) Winterbottom / (6) S.Richards / (777) ??????
888: (1) Whincup / (888) Lowndes
DJR: (17) Owen / (18) Courtney
PCR: (111) Coulthard / (??) ?????
BJR: (12) A.Jones / (14) McConville
KEL: (15) R.Kelly / (16) T.Kelly
MAR: (50) Marshall
PE: (7) ????. / (11) ?????
BRI: (25) Bright / (26) ?????
TKR: (021) ?????
SBR: (4) ?????. / (9) Van Gisbergen
PMM: (39) Ingall / (67) Morris
GRM: (33) L.Holdsworth / (34) Caruso
TAS: (3) J.Richards / (51) Murphy
RNR: (55) D'Alberto

With 1 car licence still about (The Walden franchise) of which about a million rumours surround it's destination (too many to list here)

of the ????. the rumour mill is working overtime to try and fit drivers in slots….

Steve Johnson is the latest name to emerge in connection with the SBR seat, Along with Alex Davison. Jason Bargwanna seems to have cooled in this hotly contested race to the line…

All of the above of course is subject to change in about 5 minutes time….

Nah - the Kelly thing isn’t too confusing when you lay it all out! However I thought both Rick and Todd have said that they don’t want to race in the same team….

Larry Perkins was just re-elected to VESA. Must mean he has a sound plan for next year? The others wouldn’t have re-elected him if they were concerned about his successful involvement with the sport.

It will all unravel itself in due course i am sure. But it is fun to try and work it out, and have a bit of a punt as to what will happen.

There are lots of good drivers to find seats, and plenty of seats looking for drivers so it could all turn crazy!
