Signitures……

Just wondering, does it annoy you Jamie that people try to make money off your (& other drivers) signitures?

for example people getting you to sign a 1:43 or 1:18 model car, then you see it on ebay with an extra $20-$50 on top of what they are worth or selling for.

I am guilty of having you & Craig sign my 2006 Bathurst winning COA, but its not for profit, just to have it in amungst my collection of cars.

Grrrrr……

Oh my gosh
it makes ME angry!

But i was talking to CL on sunday and he was telling me its policy now to personalise all photos.

this one guy had like 15 photos of CL and got cranky when CL asked who to address it too.. the guy was like.. nah mate just sign it and craigs like, yeh to who.. and the guys like, noone just an autograph! and craig wouldnt do it!

I had jamie sign my 2007 whincup Car but -no amount of money would take it from me… exccept maybe $50 so i can buy A new one as the case got a bit scratched in the bag at EC!

Good point! i noticed a number of the 888 posters that they were handing out at the Clipsal on ebay signed by Craig & Jamie.
Also how do you feel when you have heaps of Holden fans asking you to sign stuff?
I hated it when a heap of Holden supports pushed in front of little old me in my 888 gear trying to get to Craig & Jamie!

To some fans it doesnt matter if they drive a ford or holden , some holden fans probably follow Crag & Jamie since they both did drive HOLDENS and i dont see a problem with that , a fan is a fan .

Yeah bianca, at Queensland raceway last year we were sitting behind a bunch of people in holden gear with brock and skaife signatures all over their shirts and hats, but they were cheering for lowndsey and jamie way more then any other driver at there!! Everytime the boys passed someone they would ya hoo and yell ourt there names!

I think it’s great that they’re personalising everything now. Especially when the drivers are only at an autograph session for a limited time and there are loads of fans lining up to get their gear autographed because they treasure it and would never part with it. People re-selling signed merchandise on eBay are just out to make a buck off the drivers. It’s not fair that they take up the drivers time and some fans miss out on getting their treasured merchandise autographed when the line is cut off at a certain point.

I think its great :) at every Sandown race we sit with the most one eyed holden fans ive ever met but they LOVE Craig Lowndes .

I personally would never be able to part with any of my signed items. I cant even part with all my motorsport magazines so its a certainty that i wouldnt ever get rid of any or merchandise signed or not. Its hard enough at times just to get the signatures haha! I also think personalising signatures now is a really great idea, makes even more special :)

I get my photo’s that i take signed by the boys and ther hang on my wall .. i sell my unsinged ones but never my signed ones … hell you have to wait to long to see the boys just to get a few things signed as it is ….. i Have a photo i took of the boys on the Bathust podium 2006 that they signed for me ( Jamie wrote “big Day” on it while he sat and chatted with us at hte 2007 sunrise launch :D aint ever selling that and if i ever did the money would go to my kids trust account not into my pocket …

I don’t like the concept of people profiting from others goodwill (i.e. drivers taking time to sign items).

The only item I have is a Bathurst 07 poster that CL signed at the session before Clipsal (Jamie wasnt there at the time… Damn), was funny - the poster is made up of hundreds of very small photos from Bathurst and CL was pointing out… There me…and me…and me again….well, his name is CLOWNdes.

I know some Holden supports still follow Craig & Jamie but some are just trying to make a buck! Another thing what are some of the weridest things you have been asked to sign? I saw someone ask Craig to sign his medicare card, that’s got to be a hard one to frame?

I’d never get rid of anything signed by Jamie and Craig, or even if it isn’t signed.

I could never part with any of my Signed gear. It’s hard enough to get stuff signed at the best of times, so why would you want to sell it??? My favourite pieces of signed stuff are my Bathurst 06 Car, and a present I got from a friend: A picture of Jamies 88 car at Puke last year, with his sig and the words “To Richi, love you long time”. How funny is that! My friend asked for Jamie to write that on the photo as a joke, and he did it! Now that is a priceless piece of memorabilia!

On a side note, has anyone been on Ebay lately, and seen the stuff Craig and Nat are auctioning off for The Little Lowndes Fund, there are Lowndesy’s signed Puma gloves from last year, I’d love to buy them!

You mean these ones!!! lol yeh i think that is a great idea of them, sell the old stuff you dont need or want to make a buck for the kids, good on em i say!!!! but then again, they could be selling my liver & i would say the same thing! so meh! lol

As far as I know, those ebay items will be personalised to whoever buys them too, what cuts out future on-selling. Which is good.

I have to admit that I have sold a few V8 items on ebay, but the amount I have money I have made from it is nowhere near what I have spent on my Team Vodafone/Ford merchandise.

As for photos, even though I have hundreds of them, I could never sell any of them on ebay.

I think it is great that the drivers are personalising them now, I have some great comments on some of my photos(everything from With Love XOXO to Happy Valentines Day) :D .

Jamies signiture isnt always the same jess.
sometimes he has to many loops - after the J and before the W
he seems to write Jaammie alot lol

i hate to admit that ive actually compared his autograph to another one, and to ones printed on shirts/hats/websites

and yes mel -personalised photos are the best! it makes them so much more special too!

At Eastern Creek on the weekend, we had a (holden) driver sign a poster, and write a note on it to my 11year old cousins teacher… “Dear Mrs Timble, Emma hasnt done her homework because she was the V8s with me”

Her teacher put it on the classroom wall…. and she got a days extension!
