Congrats Jamie! Fantastic drive. Handled all GT’s pressure brilliantly! Bring on another two tomorrow!

And at last we see Todd Kelly up where he should be!!
Bill 6:21 pm October 25th 2008

Today was a great result for Jamie and I suspect they’ll give him a better tool for tomorrow. Gooooooo!
Yes, Casey. I’m pleased to see Todd with a car somewhat more comensurate with his talent. Mind you, don’t want him to get too close to the front before he switches to Ford!
Josh Ladner 6:42 pm October 25th 2008
Congratulations Jamie, GT had no chance, good luck for races 2 and 3.
Casey Phoenix 6:44 pm October 25th 2008
Funny you say that Stephen about Todd. I love this website and Jamie, but I’m in a dilemma now. Being at the buisness end of the championship, Jamie doing well is bad for GT, therefore, bad for my team! Whether I’m thinking good or bad thoughts about 88 I feel as though I’m betraying my religion!
And Todd is NOT going to Ford.
Race 1 proved why those three boys are top of the championship though. They drove well on a tight track, whilst giving each other pressure. Jamie is proving the better performer so far for this meet…. but the other two are close behind.

Hey, I try to be honest enough to give credit where it’s due, Casey but it’s sometimes hard to go against MY religion. And as I said elsewhere, I like Todd (save for NZ…!)
Consequently, I’m happy to advance your assessment of today and say that, apart from the run to the first corner, Garth was Jamie’s equal today. I hope it’s because Jamie’s team made a setup error with his car. I reckon I read that into Jamie’s post race interview. Hopefully, Jamie tomorrow shows the speed differential that he did in qualifying.
It was also interesting to see the Championship leaders fighting at the front. Those three aren’t at the front by accident (although, if it wasn’t for Todd’s accident, Jamie would surely be far ahead at present). They are there because they have clearly been the top three class acts this season.
Hopefully we have two clean, honest battles tomorrow!

Oh yeah, I forgot - Paul Morris should be driven somewhere far away and left there.
Who do you imagine might be voted ‘Most Dangerous’ AGAIN…?
Casey Phoenix 7:26 pm October 25th 2008
Dammit Stephen - you beat me to it!! I was just going to add a comment about Morris and his multiple black flags!!
And on that subject - which official blackflagged 7!?!? How hard is it to get the car right? At least they withdrew it before penalty was served.
Al88 7:31 pm October 25th 2008
Great start which is slightly different from jw but raced sensational like always!!!
Well Done JAmie
Start like that sunday and run away with the round and championship lead
Al88 7:32 pm October 25th 2008
i was worried when JW had to lap morris but for once paul was fair, dont tell me he’s changing
Josh Ladner 7:35 pm October 25th 2008
Morris must be getting soft in his “old age”. Maybe all the black flags have gotten to him
Al88 7:37 pm October 25th 2008
wasting his life doing 40km down pit lane
Josh Ladner 7:55 pm October 25th 2008
not much else he can do. Morris cant race, he is either in the wall, facing the wrong way or in the pit lane
Casey Phoenix 8:00 pm October 25th 2008
Don’t forget he is ruining other people’s races whilst doing that Josh.
Stephen 8:08 pm October 25th 2008
Yeah, that was a bizarre muck up with the Perkins cars’ penalty deal…
Clearly, Morris is fortunate to be able to drive in his own team - I doubt any of the others would have him even if he brought money…
Josh Ladner 8:18 pm October 25th 2008
Your right, he is fortunate to drive for his own team and like all v8 drivers you must be pretty darn good to be able to drive a v8 but at some point he must think to himself that some thing is not right when his team mate is near the front and he is near the back. I dont understand how the stewards could muck up the Perkins car penalty. At least Jamie won. Thats the main thing
