Ford Motorsport Manager Ray Price will not be a part of the Blue Oval’s V8 interests next year.
Price, who has spent three seasons heading up Ford’s involvement with V8 Supercars, has taken up a role as Service Engineering Director within Ford Asia Pacific and Africa.
Although the position is effective from tomorrow (Saturday, November 1), he will remain involved with Ford Motorsport until the end of the year, attending the V8 rounds at Tasmania and Oran Park.
A replacement is yet to be announced for Price, who will now lead vehicle servicing for current and future Ford models, technical training, publications and warranty and policy activities for the Asia Pacific and Africa Region and will be located in Melbourne.
He said his new role was an opportunity he could not afford to give up.
“It (taking a new position before the end of the season) was not something I planned,†he said.
“Motorsport is my job still at this point in time, but it (the new role) is something I had planned as a future assignment with Ford.â€
The Ford V8 Supercar teams were advised of Price’s job change on Tuesday.
He said one of the biggest achievements during his time as Ford Motorsport Manager was the design, development and launch of the FG01 earlier this year.
“That was a fantastic achievement for all involved and the teams, especially FPR and 888, did a fantastic job.
“The, and I will say this word, ‘parity’ between our teams has allowed our teams to have better results this year than in previous years.
“And winning Bathurst three years in a row was great, but winning it is 2006 as the Peter Brock Memorial year was certainly an outstanding achievement.â€
In his new role, Price will report to Brian Colianni, Ford’s Executive Director for the Asia Pacific and Africa Customer Service Office.

GOOD. Bugger off, maybe we will get someone that know's how to sponsor cars now. He is an idiot. Removing sponsorship off Triple Eight is wrong. And as far as I can see, they will lose more money then they will gain. SBR. LOL Do they aim for second and thrid every year. 3 in a row, jee we do love to rub it into Ford's face.
