Hey Jamie, once again, lame question, but with the pole position cheque, is that for Jamie Whincup (driver) or T8 (team)?

I’m pretty sure it goes to the driver.
TVF-888 9:10 am February 27th 2008
yeh, thats what i have thought!
Does Jamie take the Boys (& girls) from T8 out for a drink after the race?
Rinncup 9:19 am February 27th 2008

Doe 9:30 am February 27th 2008
At this rate Jamie your gonna have to win every pole to pay for all our B/day drinks
Rinncup 5:43 pm February 27th 2008
but dont worry.. ill pay for your 26th birthday in return
Jamie Whincup 6:03 pm February 27th 2008
The 5k goes towards the T8 Christmas fund. Every year all team members, partners and kids go away for the weekend and we have a ball.
Tinks 6:03 pm February 27th 2008
Maybe the $5000 cheque went straight into Toby’s pocket to pay for the work he’s done on this site??
Tinks 6:04 pm February 27th 2008
Ahhh… posted at the same time. Christmas fund sounds like a great idea.
Grimey 6:06 pm February 27th 2008
Nice way to spend the money
Jamie Whincup 6:17 pm February 27th 2008
Technically that 5k was won by the whole team, so we should split it up 45 ways. But we choose to stick it into the Christmas fund.
TVF-888 6:21 pm February 27th 2008
Awesome idea, great incentive to get poll for both you and craig!!!
crappy xmas if you dont get pole thoughout the year!! haha
but yeh wat i was saying about the buying drinks for the team was basically meant as you have explained, every1 gets it.
Thanks JW

Bummer there goes my B/Day drink
TVF-888 6:24 pm February 27th 2008
mine too
Jamie Whincup 6:30 pm February 27th 2008
It’s important to realise that a driver is only one part of a racing team.
TVF-888 6:51 pm February 27th 2008
I think we all know that Jamie, but everybody needs to see it for them selves, after winton last year my fiance was gob smacked at how much the crew actually do.
without the team there would be no car and without a car whats the point in having a driver?
its a pity that the teams dont get more recognition for their work, i know you (the drivers) always praise them after a win, does that actually make a diff. to them? i mean do they appreciate it?
Matt Cousins 7:36 pm February 27th 2008
Dont you worry about Toby……………..He works for me. Toby is doing a great job but there is a whole team behind the site. It’s not just Toby and I.
Jamie Whincup 7:43 pm February 27th 2008
The team do get praised and rewarded for there efforts, it is just the drivers that have to make the speech and stand on the podium.
I am keen for mechanics to stand on the podium next round, what you think?
Donna Jarvis 7:45 pm February 27th 2008
I reckon you should do it, cause if it was for them, putting in the hard yards, to make the car right, and you driving it, Go for it
