The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has delivered a pre-Christmas bonus to homeowners with a 75 basis point cut in official interest rates, and following suite, OzQuest Homeloans are NOW going to pass on the cut immediately to all Jamie Whincup Community Members, as we NOW have access to the cheapest interest rates in Australia, call us, or email us now to see if you fit the criteria of the cheapest interest rates in Australia.
We were expecting a rate cut, but this was bigger than expected, it takes the cash interest rate to 5.25 percent, and will shave around $175 per month from repayments on a $350,000 home loan. The official rate has not been at these levels since December 2003, and from some internal memo’s, the rate may even get cut again before DEC this year.

Not that I am in the market for a Home Loan, but with further cuts expected in December, and possibly another cut following that, would it be better to hold off for another month?

Hello Muz,
To answer your question, it wouldnt matter if you held off or not, unless you intend to fix your loan, as once you fix it for a period of say 3 years, that rate would not change for that Period.
But if you decided to go variable with us, no matter if the rate came down again or even went up, your loan with us would follow suit.
EG: if you have a Loan with OzQuest Homeloans and your rate was say 7.89% and the reserve bank dropped the interest rate by .5 base points, automatically the rate on your loan would drop as soon as the lender that you are with followed suit with the reserve bank. (7.39%) this example was based on a variable loan.
If anyone has any questions or queries about there Homeloan we are happy to help in any way, just drop us an email.
