Other forms of motorsport?

Hey Jamie!

I was just wondering whether you follow any of the other forms of motorsport?

I personally follow F1 in addition to the V8s. I also crew for a mate with a drag car which is heaps of fun. I would definitely recommend drag racing to anyone who hasn't been to see it before!

I would recommend people go out to the Shannons Nationals for a fantastic and cheap weekend of racing. The F3, Commodore Cup and GT championships are fantastic events!
I also follow F1, MotoGP, and NASCAR (although very loosely as it’s hard to get information about it in Australia)

Chelsea, I definately agree about Drag Racing!!
I’ve grown up around it with my Dad racing for 30 years, and my Mum working as an official.
I work as an Official at Willowbank Raceway, as the bracket marshall for Top Doorslammer.
There is nothing more awesome than standing on the startline when a Top Fueller launches!!!

Hmm, i can’t seem to get interested in drag racing, i just dont get a kick outa it as much as circuit racing.
In saying that i love all forms of aussie v8’s inc utes and fujitsus. and i also love that le Mons series and the Brittish touring car championship is really fun to watch.

Nascar on the road cicuits is awsum to wathc, but that oval stuff just dosnt excite me.

I too follow F1, nascar etc, and have to agree shannons nationals are a great day racing. i spend most of my time at the track at the lesser events and at hillclimbs, so i see almost everything, and love it all.

I love NASCAR and IndyCar..but I really love the local club circuit.
I think AASA is a great concept but F1 really sucks now.

Are the Shannons Nationals held up in QLD?

We actually race in the Shannons Nostalgia Drag Racing series. It’s a one day event and also pretty cheap with tickets at $25.

Am starting to get interested in NASCAR (now that I have a set top box I can actually watch it….)

I try to watch as much of Marcos and his NASCAR career as possible, as I just love his attitude to racing. But I’m an Aussie, so I tend to follow Casey, Chris and Ant in MotoGP, Webber in F1, Ryan and Will in Indy, and trying to keep up with how much money Chad Reed is making.

(Muz, there is that much NASCAR info out there it isn’t funny).

Go the Aussies !!!!

I and my family are big Speedway fans!!

i actually have a tattoo of a Sprintcar and Super Sedan plus Aust Flag and Chequered Flag on the top of my left outer thigh.. =)

i love getting Mud in my hair just to watch racecars go around in a circle! lol..

but i’m not fussy!!
as long as it has a motor and wheels i’m easily amused!!

My Top Three are… Speedway - V8 Supercars - NASCAR !!

Lots of Aussies in action this weekend…

Marcos placed 11th in Final Practice at Michigan

Casey is at the top of the time sheets at the Czech MotoGP

Chris Atkinson finished 7th in the 1st Leg of the WRC Rallye Deutschland

F1 next week…..

Lots of different options to choose from. :)

Im into pretty much any motorsports, but mainly V8Supercars, speedway (my dad raced), WRC and Nascar (getting a HD set top box so I can watch it on 10HD soon). F1 racing is starting to get better to watch- drag racing is about the only thing I don’t watch on TV.

The TV coverage of Drag Racing has certainly improved. It’s often on SBS and Channel 9 on a Sunday.

However nothing can compare to actually watching it. Especially given it all unfolds right in front of you and as such different camera angles don’t make that much difference…

F1, V8’s, MotoGP and NASCAR, which is on FOXTEL and TEN HD for anyone who wants to know :D
