Bi-monthly sounds good to me.

I love catching up with everybody and having a chin-wag. Live chat here is tops, but meeting and seeing people face to face is un-bloody-beatable.

For mine, Brizzy is the favoured location, as we’d get more people. Chez Layla’s was tops, as is Southbank on the whole.

Mon and myself would love one on the Sunny Coast, but the distances and logistics for others is a bit of a PITA.

I also have a few picies Roh, but only a few are publishable due to their content………

Although if it be in Brissy will have to arrange a couch(thanks Lisa ) or accomodation for night as be easier n could stay out longer… how bout we alternate the locations to suit everybody…one in Bris nxt at Goldy etc.

That sounds great Cat (and not a prob, you’re welcome anytime! I’ll even have a mattress for you next time). Bi monthly is probably better as life is so busy these days. Even at the end of Sept would be good (can’t really do early Oct has Bathrust is then. That gives us time to organise time, place, accomm etc.
Does anyone have any suggestions?? If we can organise it and give people plenty of time, more people may be able to attend. Maybe something similar to the Goldie get together, start with lunch and if you want to carry on into the night

I was going to suggest a cafe in Southport, that makes the yummiest food! PM me if you want details…

Only problem is that I cant get to any of the Brissy or Sunny Coast ones, purely because of the distance thing.

It’s not that far to Briz Vegas A. I made the trek to the Burleigh and Southbank get-togethers from the Sunny Coast, and Mon made a HUUUUGE effort and got to the Southbank one all the way from Tiaro (that’s about a 600K round trip for her, what a trooper !!!)

I still reckon Brizzy is the go, good transport options and more people can make it.

The week before Bathurst maybe? I’ll float out October 4th as a tentative date, thoughts?

Alecx the surfers slsc is actually opposite the beach on the esplanade, I had to train it from Brissy,Which really isnt that bad Alecx,we could travel together you know… I still think we alternate btwn Brissy n Goldy to keep everyone happy…n Maybe have one on the Sunny Coast for all those that live up that way…could perhaps make it on Oct 4 have to check closer to date may have to work…unless we make it a lunchtime one on Goldy,cant really afford to take any more nights off work at this time of year.

Weekend lunchtime meet-ups work for me, as I am still able to get a train back to the Sunny Coast after drinking with Louie, (and Lisa, and Kat, and Mon, and Carolyn, Josh, Adelle, Mel, Myst, Maddy, James, Lauren etc; )

Catching up with people is bloody tops. Catching up with a heap is even better.

Ok so if we do one on Gold Coast I’m sure btwn the members who live on the coast,we can accomodate those who travel dwn from Brissy n the Sunny Coast,just like people like Lisa accomodated myself n Wheels (Again thanks heaps Lisa!! ) I could accomodate one or 2 people in my little humble unit (it would be my pleasure and if it would make it easier for those comming from up north it would surely be more than worth it ) So lets decide apon a definate date for those who hve to organize work rosters,and then a Venue making sure we all have enough notice to organize ourselves n travel etc …… I still think we should alternate btwn Brissy, Gold Coast etc to cater for everyone involved, that way most QLD members have the oppotunity to attend these events,n keep everyone happy

may i make a suggestion for a get together on the Sunny Coast,no,well ok then i will.was thinking about lunch at one of the surf clubs on the Sunny Coast,then a car cruise up into the hinterland,Maleny for arguments sake for an afternoon nibbles.then cruise back down to the coast where people can go their sepparate ways or continue to party on or just have dinner.the same can be done on the Goldie if people decide to do so.

Every couple of months sounds great. I don’t mind travelling to the different venues (particularly on the weekends) so all three options (Gold and Sunshine Coasts and Brisbane) suit me. Shares the travel time around too. With such wonderful company the time and distance isn’t too much of a sacrifice!
