Hmm…….. you know what would be really good? If outsiders couldn’t access the discussions and our profiles without being members. It’s just a little intrusive. But meh… not like Facebook and everything else these days isn’t.

Sorta irked me a bit the other day when I noticed that you can just look at all that without logging in.

But then again I was in a bit of a crabby mood at the time so everything irked me

I agree with you Rach , its like window shopping , having a look and if you like what you see you will go in for a closer look .

Outsiders accessing the discussion forum isn’t a big deal IMO(it would be a way to get more members join though) and I guess neither is everyone being able to view my profile, I only add what I want people to know about me.

Maybe a make profile private button could be added??

Like the profile private button idea, maybe the web ppl should look at how facebook handles privacy issues ? You can just about hide yourself on there (i’ve tested the theory lol)

Its not a new format but merely an update to certain aspects of the discussion section, image gallery, and the additon of a chat room(for subjects such as Calendar Survey and TicToc).

It will be up by the end of the week.

We will look at the private profile thing but no promises at this stage………if we keep going at the same rate of development as we have then we would have to start charging membership like other drivers and teams and that is the one thing we DONT want to do!

Good to hear you don’t want to charge for membership…that’s what makes this site more accessable to everyone. Us V8 fans can support the race meetings by attendance and purchasing team memorabilia. Keep up the good work Matt!

It’s hardly right to charge fans to support their sporting hero’s - the fans deserve something in return.Thats why the site was built with community format from the start.

But having the discussions/profiles ‘members only’ areas would keep an eye on things from your perspective Matt. Can you imagine if the media caught hold of anything on here and blew it out of proportion? i.e. Betty and things like that… hard to monitor things like that when it is all completely public.

Or just in case stalkers come on here without us knowing… well maybe on Jamie has to worry about that one.

Yep….Thanks for thefeedback Rach but that is why such discussions and topics will be moved to the Chat Room immediately in the future. We will also be appointing a couple of moderators very soon.

Anyone that is found harrassing or stalking will be removed and banned immediately.

We already have many members of the media who are registered members so even if we did a members access only they would still see it so that it why we have planned as per the above.
