I would appreciate some help with dealing with lazy people. I have a few on my shift at work and it's driving me nuts. I've tried ignoring it and telling my team leader but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Best thing, do what is only what you have to do, leave the other work they is theirs up to them. if things go bad, they may lose their jobs or get a massive ass kicking just to get them to work again.

Hey Princess Fiona what job do you do. I agree with Jonathon as long as you are doing what you need to do they will get an ass kicking in the end for not pulling their weight. You have let your team leader know how you feel and what the problem is now it is up to him or her to do something. I also have lazy people in my job and a lot of the girls that i work with and myself have let our team leader know. There isn’t much more you can do as you may get into trouble for bullying if you say something to these people. It is up to your team leader now.

That’s just it nothing. I work in a pasta factory and it’s an automated production line. We’re supposed to pull our own weight to make sure things go smoothly but thats not happening so other people have to do more to compensate. I go home knackered every day.

One word…..karma
The effects of all deeds actively create past, present, and future experiences, thus making one responsible for one’s own life, and the pain and joy it brings to him/her and others.

Fiona i can so understand how you feel, a previous co worker of mine was the same but this person acutally did nothing and managed to get away with it!. in the end he left as he felt that there was nothing more to achieve in the position!
There really isnt anything you can do perhaps go higher than your team leader. but tell her that you are going to do it as there laziness is affecting you and your work and its not in the best interest of the company

That is profound Craig, I’m gonna write that down.

Fiona,
Firstly there is a limit with how many ‘extra miles’ we can go at work without it impacting on our private lives - and by the sounds of it, you are passing that limit.
Accept that this is not your problem to solve. You have done your part in recognising the problem and have ‘passed it up’ the chain to your supervisor. It is now up to your supervisor to deal with it.
At the moment, by ‘taking up the slack’, you may be preventing your supervisor from seeing that there is actually a problem - all the work is getting done. .
Focus on the work you are paid to do, and let the other work slide so that the problem becomes more obvious to your supervisor.
