My hubby Neville was reading through the Sports section of the Herald Sun yesterday and just when I thought all the news for the V8's was over for the year, we came across this. It looks like our darling Jamie Whincup could indeed have a lady friend. Does anyone know anything about this. This is the first I've ever read about anything to do with his love life so I was very interested.

"Australian Idol Host Ricki-Lee Coulter has dismissed speculation linking her romantically with V8 pin-up boy Jamie Whincup.
Racing circles are abuzz with whispers the pair could be an item, but Coulter's manager, Lauren Brown, has laughed it off.
'They're good mates and they're both on the Gold Coast - they're great mates." Brown said.
"Ricki-Lee is a massive V8 fan and great friends with Jamie (Whincup) as well as Craig Lowndes".
Ricki-Lee seems like a gorgeous girl. Neville and I are both fans of Idol as well as her music so how exciting would it be if this news was true. Just imagine, our favourite racing car driver and a famous singer, what a combination. I know she has denied it in this article, but would you blame the girl. The entire country is going to be in a frenzy if they find out this is true.

Acording to the Adelaide Confidential Rickil-lee is dating fellow idol Mark Spano and she is moving to melbourne to be closer to him

Yes, I agree with Bianca. If it’s true, personally I’m thrilled for Jamie. I wouldn’t blame them for having their representatives deny the claim because lets face it, relationships are hard enough, as if they’d want every man and dog asking them about what’s going on.

well good on him if he has a girl, i rekon its great but i dont rekon he needs us talking bout his mystery girl as if its more important than his racing. hes just like eveyone else hes out there to earn a living doing a job he loves just like all the actors and singers as well, but some of them go to the extreme and tell every detail about their lives, eg i went to the toilet at precisely 0857h, and they’d flog that all over the news for weeks. what im saying is he is out there to do a job and earn a living, not fill in time for you to read the latest gossip ’bout his girl. he could go out with anyone girl or even guy if he was gay (no offence to jamie saying that) and id still think hes cool. he could have had this girl for months but was too afraid to announce it or he has my point that none of us should have been involved in the first place.

OMG - this is the HOTTEST news! Far out, what a spunky couple they would be. I just read online that ricky split from her husband a couple of months ago and she is now a totally single lady! I also read on her website that she used to live on the Gold Coast??? AS IF she would date Mark Spano peeps when Jamie Whincup was a potential bf…I know who I’d be going for if I was ricky lee!!! (blush)!!! I’ve been dying to hear some romantic gossip about Jamie all year so fingers crossed its true and he announces the news when he’s ready! Woot Woot!

Blaire - you’re totally right and I just read your comment after Id made mine, and now I feel a bit bad because Im the other end of the spectrum as Id love to know more about Jamie and his life (not to the toilet time extent!!!). I don’t feel like it takes away from his cred as a V8 supercar driver, as first and foremost I follow his racing. I guess on the other hand, he is in the public eye and as fans we all want to know little extra bits n pieces - especially when the racing season is over and were still supporting our fave drivers. In principal - youre right…something may be going on and they just want to keep it away from the fans and the media…I cant help but get excited though! Sorry if that offends

Wanting to know about if Jamie has a girlfriend is no different to other people on here asking about what he is doing for christmas. This was something that interested me when i read it in the paper so I thought it might interest other JW fans too. They are both young, talented, successful and single and in the article it says they are great friends. Every time I read the new idea magazine there is an article about two people getting together and they deny it, but a few months down the track they end up together.
Like Kaylene, I am a fan of Jamie because of his driving abilities and support him as a driver and he seems like a lovely young man whenever he is interviewed on the tv. Whatever the case I just hope that he is happy.

It annoys me when the media immediately starts speculating that a male and female are in a relationship when they’re seen together. Why cant two people of opposite sex just be friends without having to be romantically linked? They could well just be friends.
And if it did happen to be true, then good on him….
