The FG Falcon will make a “guest” appearance at Sandown.

Hi Lindy…. check out page 4 of Motorsport eNews (link: http://enews.mnews.com.au/)

It says there that Craig Lowndes will be the first to drive Ford’s FG Falcon at Sandown. Grant Denyer will be in the passenger seat and together they’ll do a few laps of the circuit. No teams will be competing in them though. Looks like we might have to wait until next season.

Hi

The new FG racecar wont be ready to race until next year as they have just finish building the test car and still have to have it holmagated as they had the same problem with this car as with the VE commodore where the road going version is longer in the wheelbase than the supercar rules allow so they have had to actually shorten the V8 super version of the FG falcon.

I just hope that when they (TEGA) homologate the new Falcon and the VE to make sure of parity that the Ford guys are tough and watch for any tactics from the Holden boys to slow the FG.
As history has shown when getting the two cars homologated Holden have been able to somehow come away with a slight advantage in aerodynamic down force or some little thing that gives them the edge over the Falcon.
I am sorry to any Holden fans but to be perfectly honest I just dont trust some of the big boys at Holden one bit, they really know how to fight the politics of the sport and I really think that Ford are way too soft.
So what I am saying is that I am just hoping they get the homologation process right and the new Falcon can be a potential race winner first race, I dont want it all Fords way I just want true parity.

Go Ford in 08 Championship and Bathurst, ooh yeah.

What are you saying Darren ? That Tom Walkinshaw can’t be trusted ??

Shame on you ;-) ;-)

It is not as if Unkie Tom has pulled any swifties in the past….

But what you say is absolutely 110% bang on the mark. Ford, in the past, have been pushed over but i think since the introduction of Prodrive and Triple Eight into the series the balance of political power has at the very least evened out and lo and behold, Ford are doing more winning as a result. This is no coincidence.

I don’t think that Roland or David Richards are about to let themselves be bent over at all. They wouldnt be in the spot they are today if they were not politically asute. Part of the issue with Ford in the past was a lack of a works operation - Holden had HRT, whilst Ford chose to split it’s bets primarily between GSR and DJR. Prodrive fixed that, and with Triple 8 arriving on the scene as re-enforcements the landscape changed significantly as we had persons within Ford more in-tune with f1 style ‘political warfare’.

The FG is a great looking road car. It should be a weapon of a racing car. I wouldnt be surprised if it blew the VE into the weeds… then we can all sit back and wait for the screams from Clayton….
