For BAC-013 soure:Motu34 from V8C.
Latest AA reports that Holden has cut it's factory support down to 4 teams. They're giving money to HRT, Kelly Racing, PMM and BJR. Losing the Holden money is GRM, Tasman, Perkins and D'Alberto.
It's basically the same as the Ford deal, the 'non factory' cars won't run the Holden strip on the windscreen, or get any money, but will still get technical assistance, and parts.
Quite clever really to make this sort of announcement in the middle of the off season when no ones paying attention. Unlike Ford who stupidly announced their cuts in the middle of the season, thus gaining maximum negative press, the Holden announcement will barely make a ripple.
It probably won't hurt that much but. Like the Ford teams have shown, the series is strong enough that they can easily replace Ford/Holden as a sponsor, and in FPR/DJR's case, get more money than they were before from non automotive sponsors.

Yeah,but I quoted it!
BTW,who r u on V8C?

HHHMMMM… i thought I replied to this exact opening post on v8central??.
However, I beg to differ…this will cause the same ripple as the Ford announcment as some teams will roll up without 'Holden' across the windscreen at Clipsal and suddenly it will explode.
However this is the right announcement and the right direction for the sport for Holden to do this.
Interestingly though, AA stated that the Kelly's are only getting full support as they have 1 year left on their contract…..
so this poses the question - if the kelly's are linked with Perkins then it must be a technical alliance, similar to what Brighty is doing with SBR, also…..
Also macnamara indicates that this is performance based, so in effect the kelly's could earn a renewal on this contract.
EDIT - Jordan, well done for quoting your source, but that does not mean you can take a whole document and paste it on another site - it's like a school assignment, you cannot put someone else's work there, pass it off as your own and then say it's alright because you quoted the source, it would still be plagiarism.

Like Muz said, doesn’t make it all better.
If it is a news article, then sure, thats DIFFERENT, still no good, but it is different.
Anyway, regarding the announcement, like Muz said, it’ll cause the same outcry that the Ford cost cut caused.

the Holden fund cut was bound to happen because GM aren't going too well at the moment in the world with this financial crises and all
and now the question is who will get the cut on the red side?
