Who's interested?
Three rounds in an it's been a fantastic start to the season, notably seeing the cars move around minus TC.
Also great seeing BMW in the ascendancy.

Also good to see Mark Webber having some reliability and snagging some points.

I’m interested!

I agree, it’s been a great start to the season. The off-season movements couple with the removal of some of the driver aids has made for some interesting racing.

Old mate Felipe picked up his game after making a few weird mistakes, whereas Hamilton has shown he’s not bulletproof.

BMW’s form has been promising, as has Red Bull’s. The gap between the mid-fielders seems to have tightened up and we’re sure to see a few more new faces in the top 5, perhaps even the podium as the season goes on.

Webber’s doing well but the car is nothing on BMW, McLaren or Ferrari. Unfortunately he’s going to need a lot of luck to return to the podium I think.

Is Kovalainen the right driver for McLaren? I wouldn’t have thought so, he’s not exactly setting the world on fire. Maybe its because he’s spending too much time adding pictures to his profile on this site. :P

Go Mark Webber & Fabian Coulthard’s cousin…..

I think Kovalainen is proving more of a challenge to Lewis than many would have thought…he out-qualified him in Malaysia and drove a better race in Bahrain.

Also, latest rumour is that DC is gone at the end of the season for Vettel to replace him.

I am more than interested!!!!

This has been an awesome season to start with, it is so nice to see BMW bring it to Ferarri and McLaren (although I am a Ferrari fan, go Kimi my boy!!!)

No TC is fantastic and seeing how all teams are coming to terms with the McLaren system ECU is interesting too, although I dont think the Ferrari has quite gotten used to it yet.

Cant wait for the Spanish GP which is the first of the European races and I feel is always the start of the real season. Was very interesting to see some of the aero developments in testing this week, the Honda was by far the most interesting (the front nose cone had wings that better suited the red bull).

Gonna be a great season… cant wait… I only hope my red boys are at the top at the end :)

So what does anyone make of the Alonso to Ferrari talk?

Schumacher is a fan of Massa so I can’t see him leaving unless he makes some more mistakes.

I don’t think Alonso could handle being number 2 to Raikonnen either.

I dont want Alonso to go to Farrari he’s an arrogant p@#$ and it would just make him worse … besides Massa deserves that car he’s worked hard and gets good results.

The thing with Massa is that he was there because of Todt (managed by Jean Todt’s son) and while I reckon he is a great driver for Ferrari to have at the moment, with Todt gone, I doubt he’ll last long.

The other issue with Fernando joining Ferrari is Kimi, because being Lewis’ teammate caused issues, but Kimi gives me the feeling that he could suddenly grab his stuff and ride off into the sunset, fed up with Formula One’s many press commitments.
If that happens soon, then I could see Alonso at Ferrari.

Dietrich Mateschitz, boss of Red Bull, though, said that Alonso was only available to bid on for 2008, so perhaps he does have plans locked in for 2009?

Love F1. McLaren are my favourite team, although it is really weird this year because although they’re my team I’m not particularly keen on either of the drivers for the first time ever. Lewis is ok, I just hope he copes with all the hype and I wish Brundle and Allen would just settle down a bit. At least we know if he doesn’t perform they’ll just jump off the bandwagon the same way they did with Jenson!

I don’t really rate Heikki, I can’t understand why McLaren went with him. And Fernando does not give the impression that it’s home sweet home to be back at Renault! Although there’s no way he will play second fiddle to Raikkonen at Ferrari.

Yep, can not wait until Spain, hopefully we’ll finally see when the top 3 teams racing each other, I’d really like to know where Mclaren and BMW sit in relation to Ferrari as its been an odd 3 rounds so far.

About the Alonso to Ferrari rumours, I actually wouldn’t mind if he came over to the red team (being a fan of the red team). Remember when Alonso signed for Mclaren in 2005, at that stage he thought Kimi was going to be his team mate, and I don’t think he necessarily had a problem with Lewis last season, it was more a problem with Ron … and maybe his way of thinking? That, and he’s a lot more consistent than Massa, and not make silly mistakes; like Mark I feel that he only got the Ferrari drive because he is managed by Nicholas Todt; but then Bourdais is managed by Nicholas Todt too, and I don’t see him getting links to Ferrari. Maybe they were just desperate in 2006 to replace Baz. *Shrugs*

Hope to see Heidfeld and Kovalainen have a few wins this season, as long as Kimi takes the WDC again :)

Yeah bring on Spain, seems like such a big gap between races. BMW are the ones to watch at the moment i think, although have they peaked a little too early in the season? Other forums that i have read reckon they have. As for “The Golden Boy” (Hamilton), what to people think? Is he the real deal or does he need Alonso to set his car up for him still? ;o)

Strong rumors going around that Vettel will move to RedBull racing (along side Webber if he gets re-signed). This means DC will either:
1). Retire and join the BBC commentary team
2). Will move over to the STR team to replace Vettel
3). Go and park cars at his casino in Monaco….heheheh

Kylie 8:01 am April 21st 2008

I will be gutted to see DC finally retire…he was the driver who drew me to McLaren and I’ve enjoyed watching him race over the years. But he does deserve a much better car than he’s got and he’s not getting any younger…I’d love to hear him on the commentary team he’d be fab!

I think Hamilton is a good driver…whether or not he can achieve the same sort of form he had last year without Alonso there I’ll have to wait and see, but the driving skill is definitely there. He’ll need to manage his mind this year!

They’re talking drizzle on Saturday and Sunday for Spain, so that’d be interested. Generally isn’t much of a race if it’s dry in Spain, because everyone tests so much there they are on optimum setups.

Glenn Hair 4:19 pm April 26th 2008

Mmmm drizzle and no traction control…..we’re just waiting for that combination to happen this year…..
