i here to complain about my hubby. he got himself a new bf mk2 xr8 11 months old mind you manual anyway love there car so nice. only problem is he won't let me drive it. saying its his car. he let me drive it yesterday only cos it was my birthday mind you only up and down the street and i havnt driven a manual in 20 years so abit scary but i didnt it. now he said next birthday if im lucky.
pissed off i told him what if we are out and i have to drive home he said he will make sure he doesnt drink so there will be no need for me to drive it.

i am very protective of my BF Mk II XR6, I am the only one who is allowed to drive it. I let my dad have a drive a few days after I got it and he hit a yellow hump in the road with the front end (no damage to the car though), since then no one is allowed behind the wheel of my car but me. I wont even let anyone eat or drink in it and it is now 22 months old. It is a pride thing I think. At least I know if i put a dent on it i only have myself to blame, after it gets the first mark made by me then I'll prob allow others to drive it. but maybe not Tigger is all mine and I'm a little possessive.
BTW I am female, so its not just men.

Well if he won’t let you play with his toys, you’ll just have to get your own….

If you have a car like an XR8, it must be driven properly, and you cannot let a woman do a man’s job.
(oooooooooooooooo so sexist!!
)
No seriosuly, who cares that much??

Nah, can't say our household is like that. We used to be protective of things until our child came along, now we spend all our energy protecting him cause he's the one thing we own that cant be replaced by insurance!!

its all cool hubby only drives it on the weekends anyway theres no way his taking that car to work.
his scared of something happening to it.thats ok his got his old ford well 98 model does the job. plus our daughter is learning on that car. so he wont be getting rid of it anytime soon.
