Firstly I have to say "WELL DONE" to Jamie & "EVERYONE" at T8 for there effort from Bathurst, Indy & Bahrain. Well all year really, & I was thinking "when was the last time that Ford won Bathurst & a Championship in the same year.
I really cannot remember, it mightve been done when DJR had those awesome Sierras or the only one I know of for sure is way back in 1981 when my hero ( Dick Johnson ) won the championship & Bathurst. I will never ever forget that year, I will admit that when DJ won the Championship at lakeside, it was just him & Brocky & DJ had Pole & lead from start to finish with a broken stabilizer bar, I will admit that I shed a tear.
Same as in 06 when CL & JW won Bathurst I actually balled, my wife thought I had lost it.
Anyway back on topic when was the last time that a Ford team has won Bathurst & the championship in the same year, coz I honestly cannot remember so if Jamie can do it (I am confident he can ) it will be an awesome occasion. And I dont care about the cost of the Poster I will do "ANYTHING" to get the money to have a T8 poster that is celebrating Bathurst & a championship. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm nice.

The last Ford to do the Bathurst & Championship sweep was…. Dick Johnson. 1989.
Dick also did it in 1981 too as you mentioned there Darren.
Now, I am going to cause a little controversy here, regarding Phillip Island. In terms of how the points for that particular weekend where structured- Jamie and Craig actually won the round overall, by vertue of their competitive runs in the A and B driver sprint races. Being biased, I class that as a “round win”.
Adelaide, Indy, “Victorian” 500, Bathurst and possibly Championship in one year ???

The last person to do the 500, Bathurst and Championship sweep was….. Craig Lowndes… 1996…
If my memory serves me correctly, nobody has done it in a Ford.

You are correct David, no one has ever done the “grand Slam” in a Ford.
John Bowe came closest- winning ‘94 Sandown and Bathurst (with Dick) and ‘95 ATCC and Sandown, before having that run-in with Seto on the Mount that ended his chances.
