They also have separate loos and showers for males and females as well as a buffet breakfast - cooked breaky, cereal, fruit, toast, juice, tea, coffee... sleep on mattresses on the floor but just as good as a tent in a field (most likely better!) It gets booked pretty quickly, and I assume that they're still doing it this year (I was the President but now that I'm not I'm out of the loop). They also run a bus up to the Mount of a morning which is awesome - but you have to find your own way back there. Haven't been to the RSL for a meal but I've heard it's good. I'll have to find myself a member to get in since I'm a local and they are also nazi's about locals that aren't members going in. I tried to tell JW last year to avoid Zieglers but he ignored me (well the team didn't get the message) cos I saw the wall signed AGAIN. They are crap... that's another story... (involving the waitress handing us menu's and telling us to find our own seats, not being given a spoon to stir the coffee... then being told they didn't HAVE any spoons... so I said - a dessert spoon will do. Huffy waitress got me a dessert spoon. Asked for water 5 times and didn't get it... they run out of menus... list goes on) Once upon a time they were good - now there are new owners there. JW DO NOT GO THERE AND TELL CL AND GANG NOT TO EITHER!! Vanilla Bean is awesome for dinner. Family Hotel's pizza and pasta is awesome. The Ox's Piper's Bistro is good for meals (just don't party at the night club there unless you want to end up in a fight), oh... and the Chifley Hotel is AWESOME - out of the way from the crowds and awesome meals. The Waratah used to be good but I'm not sure what it's like with the new chef, G T Bar & Grill is good for a meal. The Knickerbocker is good for bevvies... as is the Family... My sugestion for Mel would be to hire a porta loo from hire company in Bathurst. I am getting one for the girls this year. The last corner is a good spot for the days action but you need to be early.
