Nice to see that Qld and NSW members are meeting up for meals etc, as for QLD and South bank , went up to the season launch a few years ago and it was a fantastic day and South bank was a great spot.
As for Bathurst was just wondering if some of our JW members are going this year and if any would like to meet up some where and have a meal or a drink or just meet up around the track some where I will be going 4 the first time in 4 years.
some one may have already posted some thing like this but have just started reading through the discussion topics so forgive me if that has happened.
Bathurst 08 Any one going

Yep, I am going over (from SA) - working as a flaggie, not sure where (on the track) yet.
Normally travel over with about 10 or so other officials from SA, camp in the Paddock camp ground (just behind the pits). Normally arrive there around lunchtime Weds, and usually have dinner at the RSL each night (gets REALLY busy, but they are pretty good at getting the people through).

Just to add to my earlier question, I will be staying at tent city with a friend from Wed through till Sun if any one is staying there as well, as I have not been to Bathurst for four years now we are getting replies to my Question if some one may be able to help with an idea where there would be a good spot to meet up if we can get some members to meet up. Cheers Des

As for a good spot to meet - Holden tent, hehe

I’ll be there …. I missed last year for the first time in 13 years.
(But was glued to the TV screen for the whole race last year … lost my voice and upset a few neighbours along the way but you get that!)
So look forward to meeting everyone there … don’t mind time and place, just let me know!

Yeah I was kidding about the Holden Tent, it has to be something very very special(like Brocky’s tribute car) to get me to step foot into the Holden Precinct.
Another Q: Where abouts are you sitting??
I love to take photos from all over the circuit, so usually walk my own Bathurst 1000 over the 4 days I am there. But when I am seated, you will find me in the Mountain Straight Grandstand
.
TC aka Toni Carter 12:52 pm June 16th 2008
Well you will find me not too far from you Mel … we are usually on the hill right opposite the podium on the main straight next to the walk over bridge. Great view especially when Ford are on the podium

My hubby and I are going for the first time this year. We are going with a tour group. Staying in town at the Bathurst Appartments. Got grandstand seats. But will be walking around most of the time to get the feel of Bathursts. Can’t wait going to be awesome would love to meet some of the JW fans.

Rodney Spedding 6:15 pm June 16th 2008
We are staying in the chase camp ground.
My sugestion for Mel would be to hire a porta loo from hire company in Bathurst. I am getting one for the girls this year.
The last corner is a good spot for the days action but you need to be early.
Last year i sat at the dog leg at the end of the chase it was pretty quite. it was great watching RK spear off there.
Stig (XYZ) 8:31 pm June 16th 2008

LOL Rach, that is keen, bet you have a great possie.
Thanks for the advice. The campsite where I am staying have been doing it for years so hopefully they have all the little things covered. From what I have been told it has 4*’s.

Hi All
Ok we certainly have got some replies for going to the great race I guess we should look at what days would be good for people to perhaps meet up and say hi, I will be there from Wed on for the first time in years and cannot wait , so I guess if we can get an idea what day may be best for each we can go from there,,to some of you that are more attuned to this site is there some where safe that only we as members can see, because I notice any one can read our discussion area,,, because I do not mind leaving my mob num for any one that may like to call when we are at the track or before if needed
