Here's a link to the stories on speedcafe regarding the sarga vis-a-vis Baarbagello:

GT has also released a statement about his feelings re the round omission.
The short version (for those who don't want to read the stories) is that V8SA has stated extreme disappoint at the facilities & pace of improvements in WA.( Their exact comments call Barbagello 3rd World!) They have made offered of resources (Mark Skaife & Engineers) & reduced race sanctioning costs to facilitate the redevelopment of the track. But they now have sore feelings because of the replies they have been getting from WASCC about the track. Their final solution to the whole thing was to just drop the round from the calendar.
On the other side of the (now barbed wire) fence is WASCC who say that they have been negotiating to upgrade the track, & have funding & support to do it for next year, but not 2010. They claim that V8SA knew this, & up until now have been willing to play ball with them (meaning this year's round would have been run with existing facilities). They state however that V8SA has been harassing them over 1 detail (the cost of sanctioning fees) & that negotiations were to continue until today. They now feel highly "unco-operative" (my words - not their's!!!) & are cheesed that V8SA jumped the gun with the press release.
Their final sentiments are "I assure you that the Sporting Car Club and the government want to see the V8s here. The V8s is a terrific show for the WA public and for the club, but it's not the most important event. The Sporting Car Club runs events 350 days a year, which is ongoing business. It is only the three days that the V8s take the track time. Is it important. All events to the Sporting Club are important. Does the track rely on the V8s. No it doesn't.
Now you have the short version, any bets on who's gonna win the argument?????????
