7 add weight to Kelly Rumour

Let me be first to post that 7 have just advised that a strong rumour is that the Kelly's will race together in the same team next year, in their own outfit!
As long as it's Holden - I'd be happy with that. Who would they choose for the enduro's?

Takes a lot of $$$$ to start your own show - ask Jason Bright !

The most logicial conclusion i can draw would that Todd to join Rick at ‘HSV’, but seperate the operation from HRT and run WP equippe out of a ‘Kelly’ workshop - similar to BJR and Rod Nash. Mummy and Daddy already own the franchise, so this shouldnt be too hard. This way they should also be able to retain some form of Holden sponsorship dollars.

I will tip Dumbrell to hook back up with Marty Brant and Independant Race cars to run a car on the old Romano franchise as a solo car, with Autobahn backing of course ;-)

I have also heard that Perkins/Kelly could come together with Rick and Todd as drivers - Todd in a JD car and Rick in a Red Bull. The only logical conclusion here is the Kelly’s owning the franchise and looking after the commercial aspect of the team, and then Larry keeping up Perkins Engineering and running the garage etc.
Interesting times!

wouldnt trust Gary Dumbrell he shafted Murphy a few years ago when it was Wynns Kmart racing
also wouldnt be surprised if he brought it for his son cause with Pauls talent how else would he get a drive!

David - who brought the Bab Romano franchise, I thought it had already been absorbed by another team

From V8Supercars.com.au….. interesting….

Perkins said “not by any stretch” will he definitely continue to drive with his father’s team in 2009.

“There’s so much happening behind the scenes with every team in pit lane that I don’t think anyone’s really going to know what’s happening until next year and just with the way the economy is it’s going to affect everyone.

“Hopefully somewhere in the mix I get a drive and if it’s with Dad’s team that’d be excellent, if it’s with another team then that would be great as well.”

Kelly has also indicated he would like to continue with Jack Daniel’s Racing next year.

“All the work that’s been done with the cars and we are all working great as a team and it would be a shame to go and upset that all again so that’s Plan A and hopefully we can make it happen,” he said.

I don't blame the Kelly's for setting up their own operation next year, without the Walkinshaw Performance influence. Red Bull for Rick & JD for Todd are good sponsors, if the Kelly's can get them.

WP ripped the heart out of HSVDT last year & tranfered all the good bits of HSVDT into HRT.
Driver (GT), Engineers (Rob Crawford & Matt Neilson), & Sponsors (Toll & Pirtek).

There are loads of dodgy characters in motorsport & TW is one of them!!

Todd Kelly got transfered to Perkins.

No wonder John Kelly is unhappy.

All the changes in team line-ups only help the established teams (without any changes) get further in front next year.
