I think Toyota is a pretty good guess. They have been putting a fair bit of money into other forms of motorsports (drag racing, drifting) with their TRD branding.
So you would think the V8 franchise would give them alot more exposure, and more bang for their sponsorship buck.

I would have said Toyota, but by the looks of things most of the ford teams will stay on till then end of 2008 again till the end of 2009 with the FG then evaluate..

What about Toyota joining the championship, using their Hybrid technology… Blue V Red V Green? lol
Jamie Whincup 8:11 pm July 17th 2008
The earliest a third manufacturer can come in is 2009.
With Fords announcement a few weeks ago, this is definitely going to happen.
It will come as a shock at the start but I think it will be good in the long run.

Reality sucks
I dare say it’ll take me 2 years to get used to the idea… another 2 to accept it… then maybe 2 to hit V8 enjoyment. All that time will be full of a lot of whinging from this here young lady!
That’s a long time of feeling bummed
Grumble grumble grumble…

RED VS BLUE FOR LIFE. IF YOU LOSE THE FORD VS HOLDEN I WILL NEVER WATCH THE V8 SUPERCARS AGAIN. THAT IS WHAT IS SO UNIQUE ABOUT THEM. 2 AUSTRALIAN CARS GOING AT IT FOR THE RESPECT OF ALL!

V8 supercars would be weard with a 3rd Manufacture,
we need 2 stay with the Ford vs Holden!! GO Ford!
Warren Ellis 9:02 pm December 8th 2008
The only trouble with the Ford v Holden is that ford do use some componants from their road cars ie engines diff centre and front wishbone setup but what does holden use. What car can you get their engines in and when was the last time they used their sulsbry diff centre ??????

Any news on if there will be a third manufacturer yet Jamie?
Personally I think it could be really good to see another make out there on the track, might open some doors for more teams and drivers… hopefully anyway.
