THERE was a survey which ran in a Sydney Sunday newspaper last weekend which piqued a lot of interest in V8 Supercar land and not for all the right reasons. Firstly there was a survey where driver’s had to vote on who they thought would win the championship this year.

Well I am writing to you from the plane on my way to sunny Darwin for round 6 of the championship. Coming off a round win at Sandown and heading into an event that my teammate has won the last 2 years gives me great confidence. I love the Darwin round, it is always a very relaxed atmosphere. Everyday the Hidden Valley track is packed with race fans all there for one reason, to have a good time.
TeamVodafone’s Craig Lowndes is aiming to complete a ‘Top End Trifecta’ as he shoots for his third consecutive round win at Darwin’s Hidden Valley Raceway next weekend. The 2.9km circuit is a happy hunting ground for the multiple series champion, who celebrated his 34th birthday last week.
Reigning Sandown 500 Champions TeamVodafone have embraced the inaugural three race sprint format with drivers Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes dominant in qualifying and Race 1 at Round 5 of the V8 Supercar Championship Series at Sandown International Raceway today.
Ford's action packed Ford Fan Day is set to showcase V8 Supercar and AFL stars in a free event at the Melbourne Showgrounds, which will see all Blue Oval drivers joined by Geelong's finest kickers. Jamie Whincup and co will battle it out with select Cats players including captain Tom Harley and 2007 Brownlow Medal winner Jimmy Bartel.
